Task: Make a defensible decision and own the outcome. Action: I conducted a time-boxed POC (2 weeks) on both providers for our core workloads (batch, streaming, ML feature store). I consulted with peers, evaluated long-term roadmap and support, and scored options on integration, cost predictability, and developer experience. I chose the provider with stronger integration to our existing stack and better DX, documenting decision rationale and assumptions. Result: The platform scaled well; we avoided a costly migration later. Decision doc became a template for future vendor evaluations. Lesson: Time-box; use data where possible; document rationale. Pragmatism and ownership matter.
